At the time of writing this Blog, I was reading a brilliant book, which had been written from a mother's perspective, about losing a teenage son to an unprovoked one-punch attack!
And while this book is totally different from my own, which was also written from a mother's perspective, about living with my young son's autism and intellectual challenges...
It is what this mother has written, in one particular sentence, that struck a personal chord with me, from both a reader's perspective, and that of a mother!
The particular sentence that I read just happened to be a similar worded sentence that I recently wrote, while writing my third (3rd) follow-up book about my son's autism, which will eventually be: "The Adult Years"
The particular sentence read:
"(She) was in the 'sandwich generation' ~ busy in the roles of mother and daughter at the same time."
The author then goes on to talk about her:
"...crushing loneliness..."
and how her life:
"...was becoming an isolated existence..."
Therefore, it does not matter, on what the subject is, but more importantly:
That two completely different authors...
from two completely different walks of life,
have both written about being:
in the 'sandwich generation'
when dealing with family matters!
Interesting.
Happy Reading (and) Writing everyone...
