As a lover of Writing I find that I also have a love of Reading and reading is exactly what I have been doing quite a lot of just recently, which might also explain why there has not been a lot of blog posts on here for a while... but that's another story, for another time, perhaps...
Whilst I read quite a lot of books - Memoirs of course - I also like to read the occasional online Writing newsletters from time to time. I particularly like to read the "Words of Wisdom" or as I prefer to call it - Quotes and other interesting Sayings about Writing, some of which I will share with you here. Especially those which I often find quite poignant and meaningful to myself, as a Writer...
Most of these Quotes have come from the online Australian Writers' Centre Newsletter, which although I still read from time to time, sadly it does not have the "Words of Wisdom" section any more.... and sadly the remainder of this blog post somehow vanished when it was published... ?? I apologise for any inconvenience as it was quite a good blog... but obviously that original version was not meant to be published... even though this blog is not quite how I had wanted it to read. Nevertheless, I shall persevere and complete this blog to the best of my knowledge...
Listed below are the Words of Wisdom I had originally wanted to share with you... Quote:
"I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I am afraid of" ~ Joss Wheldon - Australian Writers' Centre Newsletter, 8 August 2013
"Long patience and application saturated with your hearts blood - you will either write or you will not - and the only way to find out whether you will not is to try" ~ Jim Tully - AWC Newsletter, 19 August 2013
"The difference between (writing) fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense" ~ Tom Clancy - AWC Newsletter, 3 October 2013
And last but certainly not least I thought I would add these final words of wisdom, which I can personally relate to, especially since I am sure that my original blog on this topic, which somehow vanished into cyberspace after it was published earlier this month, had concluded with a words of wisdom of my own, but which I cannot find written anyway in my notes!
Therefore I have now written another poignant words of wisdom which in view of this now not-so-original blog post, will serve as a reminder, not just to myself but to everyone who ever plans to write a blog or a particular word of wisdom: "Never rely on memory or technology! Always write it down first - pen to paper - the way we used to do it in the days before technology and before attempting to publish such words of wisdom..." ~ Heather Golding - Author, 24 September 2013
Perhaps that is why my original blog post vanished earlier this month, which has now resulted in my writing yet another more poignant words of wisdom...
In the meantime and while you are on here, please check out some of my previous Blog Posts and if you like you can also check out my facebook author page: Heather Golding - Author, where at least those blog posts don't vanish when published... just saying...
Happy Writing (and) Reading everyone
